Monotype is a quick medium, fun and always surprising. I paint oil based etching inks with rollers, brushes and my hands on a plexiglass panel. It is then run through an etching press. Some times one pass is perfect then sometimes layer upon layer is desired for adding complexity. I also continue to work the wet surface just after printing. Mono means one so each print, even if in a series, is absolutely one of a kind not a reproduction. A true print, an original work of art.
